Poddyland News 22nd August
Very sad ranking updates for today - another lens drops out of the Top 2,000.
A week ago I had 11 lenses in the Top 2,000 and 5 in the Top 10,000. Now I have only 4 in the Top 2,000 and 9 in the Top 10,000. That’s a potential loss of close to $50 in the payout - ouch! It shows how important it is to keep promoting and updating your lenses, and I have had little chance to do either in the last week. I desperately need to do something, yet this weekend is already going to require more time than I have for essential things.
It’s going to be a busy weekend for sure. I have to get my hair cut, go grocery shopping, see my daughters, plan a trip to New York that was to have been next Spring but now has to be done early September, get a new cell phone (mine is 8 years old and the case has to be held on with a rubber band to stop the phone falling out - embarrassing but the phone works ok though - just can’t get a case - it’s time to upgrade), research and shop for a new camcorder (can’t go to New York without one). So a very full weekend, and in addition I need to spend time enjoying the 8 weeks I have left with my girlfriend here :) I have a funny feeling my lenses are going to suffer further unfortunately. The August payout in 2 months will be horrible I am sure.
Well as usual no money from CJ or Amazon, and I still have to earn 1c on affiliate links on my lenses, but it does look as if Adsense might break records with amost $30 this month so far. I hope as the year continues I can continue the upward trend on Adsense.
LENS STATUS
Top 100 0
Top 2,000 4
Top 10,000 9

Yeah maybe you need to spend your time just updating and promoting rather than developing new stuff…you need to enjoy the time you worked so hard for with your GF!
I’ve had no luck with CJ either (2 1/2 yrs with them) I do ok with LinkShare. My main Advertiser is moving to Google Affiliate network (from CJ) I am hoping things get better??? It’s hard to know if the problem is me, the company, or CJ. (Maybe I’ll get something from the CJ settlement…fingers crossed)

I don’t really like Linkshare, I use them but never had much luck. CJ I do get sales from, but the clicks and sales are much less over the last year.
I just realized this morning that Circuit City switched over to Google Affiliate Network. I haven’t used that yet, so will be switching over. I have a good trust of Google at least.

I’ve never done well with CJ or LinkShare and now I’m wondering why I continue to promote merchants who use them.
In the several years I’ve promoted merchants through their services, I’ve only earned a few hundred dollars and right now CJ owes me a grand total of $22.95 - the same amount they’ve been owing me for months.
I think it’s time to drop them and move on.
I’ve always done much better with companies with their own affiliate programs than I have with any of the large networks.
I hope you have a great weekend! Your lenses will wait patiently for your return. They may move around in the rankings some, but they’ll wait for you.
Act on your dream!

Hey Poddys, at least the Olympic themed lenses will get out of the way soon, which will help yours rise back up again to where they should be

I haven’t had any payouts yet and must admit I still don’t really have a clue about much of it really. Have spent most of the last couple of weeks trying to learn about it and how I can benefit from it, but I think I still have a long way to go!
